What you are working with

Every Feature, Explained

The Wide Plate exists to get you out of the bathroom faster. Here is what each part of it is doing while you style.

The plates
35mm Floating Plates

Tourmaline-infused ceramic, and wide. A wider plate covers more hair in every pass, so a long session becomes a short one.

Heat
Infrared Heat

Infrared works from the inside out rather than pressing the hair flat from the surface, so thick hair softens instead of scorching.

Control
Adjustable 0–230°C

Full digital control over the temperature. Coarse hair needs the top of the range; fine or coloured hair needs far less.

Safety
Sleep Mode

The Linear II switches itself off if you walk away and forget it — the feature nobody thinks about until the day they need it.

A gap between the plates is normal. Floating plates are designed never to touch one another. That gap is what protects your hair.
A soft buzzing sound is normal. That is the ionic generator running, not a fault.
If it feels like it is grabbing, loosen your grip. Floating plates need to glide. Squeezing is what makes a straightener pull — it does not make the hair straighter.

Cleaning & care

Looking After The Plates

Wide plates pick up more product residue simply because there is more surface touching your hair. Wiping them down keeps every pass smooth.

  • Unplug it and let it cool completelyNever clean a straightener that is still warm. Give it a good twenty minutes.
  • Wipe the plates with a soft, slightly damp clothWater only. Run the cloth the full length of both plates to lift product build-up.
  • Dry the plates properlyA clean dry cloth, then leave it open until there is no moisture left at all.
  • Wipe the outer shellThe same soft cloth over the body, avoiding the display and the cord entry.
  • Store it on the heat matClosed, on the mat, in the travel bag if you are packing it — never with the cord wound tight around the tool.
Never use anything abrasive. No scourers, no alcohol, no surface cleaners. They scratch the ceramic and the damage is permanent.
Never submerge it. Not the plates, not the body, not the cord.
Look after the cord. Loop it loosely rather than winding it tightly around the tool.

Always style on dry hair. Straightening damp hair causes sizzling, steam and breakage. Dry first, then style.
Section properly. The wide plate rewards big, tidy sections — clip the rest out of the way and work from the bottom up.
