What you are working with

Every Feature, Explained

The Opulence is built around one idea — the tool does the work, not your grip. Here is what each part of it is doing while you style.

The plates
Floating Ceramic Plates

The plates move independently and never press against each other. Let them glide — a firm grip is what causes pulling, not smoother hair.

Heat
Adjustable Temperature

Set the heat to suit your hair rather than running hot by default. Fine or colour-treated hair needs far less heat than you think.

Controls
Touch Display

A touch-activated display for heat control — no buttons to knock mid-style.

Travel
Dual Voltage

Works on 110V and 220/240V, so it comes overseas with you. You will still need the right plug adaptor.

A gap between the plates is normal. Floating plates are designed never to touch. That gap is what protects your hair.
A soft buzzing sound is normal. That is the ionic generator running, not a fault.
If it feels like it is grabbing, loosen your grip. This is the single most common thing we hear from customers coming off another brand, where a tight hold was the only way to get a result. The Opulence should glide.

Cleaning & care

Looking After The Plates

Product build-up on ceramic plates is what dulls the finish and makes a straightener drag. Two minutes of care now and then keeps it gliding.

  • Unplug it and let it cool completelyNever clean a straightener that is still warm. Give it a good twenty minutes.
  • Wipe the plates with a soft, slightly damp clothWater only. Wipe the length of each plate to lift off product residue.
  • Dry the plates properlyA clean dry cloth, and leave it open until there is no moisture left at all.
  • Wipe the outer shellThe same soft cloth over the body, avoiding the display and the cord entry.
  • Store it on the heat matClosed, on the mat, in the case if you have it — not thrown in a drawer with the cord wrapped tight around it.
Never use anything abrasive. No scourers, no alcohol, no oven or surface cleaners. They scratch the ceramic and the damage cannot be undone.
Never submerge it. Not the plates, not the body, not the cord. A damp cloth is as wet as it should ever get.
Look after the cord. Loop it loosely rather than winding it tightly around the tool — tight wrapping is the fastest way to damage the wiring inside.

Always style on dry hair. Straightening damp hair is what causes sizzling, steam and breakage. Dry first, then style.
Use a heat protectant. Every time, on every section, before the plates go anywhere near your hair.
